Cashier's Office

  • On Campus
Building of Carlton

You may already be aware that several functions of the Cashier’s Office have changed over the past few years, and not just as a result of COVID-19. The Cashier’s Office website has been recently updated to emphasize these changes and to connect students with other relevant resources across campus.

We ask that you please direct students to the website or to call the Cashier at 253-692-4669 before sending them to CAR 400. More often than not, it will save them the trip across campus.

CAR 400 is accessible by doorbell Monday through Friday 9am to 4pm with staff working both on site and remotely. As such, appointments are strongly encouraged should students need one-on-one support.

Below is some helpful information for students’ frequently asked questions. All of this information and more can be found on the Cashier’s Office website.
The fastest way to pay tuition is online via MyUW, using the web check option, which has no fees and payments post to student accounts immediately.
Due to PCI compliance regulations, the Cashier’s Office no longer accepts in-person debit/credit card payments. All card payments can be made online.
For students looking to make an on-campus payment, they can use the drop box outside of DOU 176. Payments are processed throughout the week and receipts are emailed to the student’s UW email address.
Checks should be made to UW Tacoma and have their student ID in the memo.
To promote student safety, cash payments must be under $500.
The Cashier’s Office is not authorized to process scholarship checks. These should be mailed to the UW Scholarship Office, part of Student Fiscal Services.
For any questions regarding student fees, including the University Y fee, students can contact Student Affairs or visit the Student Fees website to learn more.
For any questions regarding U-PASS, parking permits or citations, students can contact Transportation Services at transit@uw.edu or 253-692-4984, located in MDS 113.

Please reach out directly to uwtcash@uw.edu or 2-4669 with any questions or for clarifying information. Your collaboration and partnership is invaluable as we strive to continually improve processes and create efficiencies to enhance customer service for students and for our community.
